The Routine Maintenance Planner assists the Refinery in achieving maintenance excellence through the systematic application of work planning, assisting scheduling, data management, and reporting. Responsible for the proactive portion of maintenance activities which entails creating a work package, using SAP, detailing all job steps, materials, service contracts, rental equipment and costs for multi-discipline repair work on refinery equipment.
Responsibilities May Include
Attend planning priority meeting and ensure working on correct priority work orders as determined by attendees.
Perform a field inspection, with all interested parties including Safety, Operations, Inspection, Engineering to determine/validate the repair scope.
Determine the correct cost allocation for the repair work.
Determine Work Order Type for the approved Notification(s) and create work orders from Approved Notifications daily.
Develop planning packages to be utilized during work execution that address known permit requirements and include detailed work scopes, procedures, drawings, tools and equipment, services, technical information, estimates, schedules, EH&S considerations, quality control documents and bill of materials.
Deliver a detailed planning package to the Area Maintenance Supervisor prior to the start of the scheduled work.
Ensure sub-orders are used where the work scope changes mid execution.
Use developed task lists and generate new ones for all complex jobs.
Identify special materials and tools that are required, ensure these are ordered and verified when delivered.
Enter the total Cost Estimate for the work order and determine the proper authorization level for approval per established financial guidelines.
Ensure that the Estimated Costs and Actual Costs are within the established parameters.
Provide constructive feedback to Supervision and Engineering to improve future scope definition when major scope growth or scope change occurs.
Assign Orders to Revisions within SAP, after approval from Area Business Team.
Upon job completion, encourage and incorporate feedback from crafts and Maintenance Supervisor into task lists or work order.
Continuously improve the planning process by gathering feedback, auditing, and analyzing performance vs. plan.
Determine which jobs should remain open or be cancelled for the recurring backlog meeting (monthly).
Support turnarounds (major and minor) for the whole plant as required.
Ensure the total scope of the work, method of completion, location of materials and tools is clearly identified for all work packages developed.
Demonstrate personal commitment to health, safety & environmental compliance with Wood River Refinery (WRR) standards.
Your own health/safety as well as health/safety of any assigned employees/contractors.
Ensure all health and safety components of work packages are clearly identified in any plans issued.
Ensure 100% compliance with Wood River Refinery (WRR) safety procedures (Permitting, LOTO, PPE, etc).
Ensure 100% compliance with all other Wood River Refinery (WRR) procedures.
- Manage all notifications and orders within SAP.
Legally authorized to work in the posting country
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Possess valid driver’s license
3 or more years of experience in refining, manufacturing, or related environment
Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
1 or more years of experience in a planning role
3 or more years of experience with SAP
3 or more years of experience in Planning Maintenance or Construction work in an industrial plant or refinery
Ability to lead structured problem-solving activities alone or in a group
Ability to make timely and effective decisions
Ability to take action in the absence of immediate direction
Ability to manage transitions to facilitate the implementation of significant change
Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude
Strong communications skills both verbal and written
The Wood River Refinery is located in Roxana, Illinois, about 15 miles northeast of St. Louis, Missouri, at the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrocracking, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of light, low-sulfur; heavy, high sulfur; and high-acid crude oil. The crude supply is sourced domestically or from Canada. Wood River produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. Other products include petrochemical feedstocks, asphalt and petroleum coke. Refined products are distributed to customers by pipeline, rail car, barge and truck and are shipped to markets throughout the Midcontinent region.
