The Commercial Accounting team is responsible for the financial accounting of all Europe Commercial activities, with each Finance Analyst taking primary responsibility for a specific trading activity. This role also takes responsibility for derivative accounting and reporting.
Reconciliation of paper trading positions from clearing broker statements to Right Angle and SAP, and processing the associated SAP entries.
Invoicing of third-party swaps, and processing third-party swap invoices received.
Preparation of derivative disclosures to support external reporting requirements.
Accurately raising sales invoices for crude and products on a timely basis.
Processing counterparty invoices for payment on the due date.
Resolving invoicing issues with other Phillips 66 businesses and external counterparties.
Creating and posting SAP journals for Commercial activities and month end closing.
Working with operations and trading to resolve price, volume, and title discrepancies.
Working on cross-functional teams to implement process improvements in the Commercial Finance area.
Creating and analysing monthly P&L Statements and balance sheet variances for key business areas.
Quarterly and monthly reporting of financial and statistical data to Houston
Ad hoc reporting requests
Hold the legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions, or meet the relevant criteria for employer sponsorship under the UK points-based immigration system
Strong financial and analytical background, part-qualified accountant or accounting experience preferable.
Effective team player
Able to communicate with staff at different levels
Good knowledge of Excel
Good attention to detail and able to manage workload to meet deadlines
Knowledge of SAP is an advantage, but is not a pre-requisite
Knowledge of Right Angle is an advantage, but is not a pre-requisite
Knowledge of derivatives and paper trading is preferred
Phillips 66 has significant marketing operations in Europe. In the UK the business is primarily wholesale, selling fuels to distributors (some of whom are branded JET) and resellers. The fuels are either collected by customers or delivered through a contracted road tanker fleet operating out of a number of UK distribution points. In addition, Phillips 66 Limited supplies a network of approximately 330 independently owned petrol forecourts, all of which are branded JET.
Other markets served are aviation, marine and LPG. JET supplies some of the UK's growing secondary airports using owned and shared refuelling tankers and storage, and delivers to airlines through contracted refuelling operations. Marine markets are served using contracted vehicles, as is the LPG business.
