Phillips 66 Regional Network Infrastructure Analyst, Bayway in Linden, New Jersey

The Regional Network Infrastructure Analyst will be based out of the Phillips 66 Bayway Refinery in Linden, New Jersey and report to the Regional IT Director and work under the functional guidance of infrastructure operations. This role will provide support and strategy for critical infrastructure for both the Phillips 66 Bayway Refinery and East and Gulf Region. Along with hands on support of the Bayway Refinery infrastructure the position will provide guidance in support of the IT infrastructure in the for the East and Gulf Region IT Field support teams.
The individual filling this position will also be expected to be highly involved in knowledge sharing and establishing best practices for regional support analysts. This role will be self-directed, highly specialized in leading the region for network systems alignment with business objectives, project management, financial planning around critical infrastructure and network modernization. A major objective for this role is optimizing IT service delivery by improving reliability, efficiency, quality and cost effectiveness of defined components of services while following corporate standards and safety practices, and especially in discovering and propagating best practices.
Responsibilities May Include
Supporting and implementing of network systems.
Performing support functions for network and server equipment.
Providing support for and build copper and fiber infrastructure.
Overseeing project management and network projects in the region.
Networking health and performance management for the region.
Consulting with Industrial Control Systems groups on design and operations best practices.
Providing guidance on procedures, processes, and tools to support teams in the region.
Managing specialty contractors or vendors.
Building and maintaining relationships with technical partners in the business (e.g. Midstream I&E Technician).
Collaborating with central infrastructure support to plan and execute hardware refresh.
Managing inventory of networking system including spares management.
Identifying cost optimization and value-add opportunities.
Providing security support for systems and networks.
Maintaining network diagram and documentation.
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
High school diploma or GED equivalent
3 or more years of experience in an applicable Information Technology discipline
3 or more years of experience with physical network cabling industry standards
Valid driver’s license
Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in the refinery around process equipment
Ability to travel up to 75%
Able to lift equipment that weighs up to 30 lbs. from the floor and safely carry up 4 flights of stairs
Able to bend, stoop, or crawl under furniture to connect wiring
Able to bend to pick up equipment and load pull cart
Able to push/pull equipment on a cart of up to 100 lbs.
Proven ability and willingness to provide day-to-day and after-hours support (24x7) as appropriate

Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or engineering
5 or more years of experience in Information Technology discipline
3 or more years working knowledge with layer 2 including switches and access points
3 or more years working knowledge and troubleshooting within a large global Cisco environment
1 or more years Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent experience
Specific knowledge of Cisco ISE, NetScout, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA Center
Programming/scripting experience; PERL and/or C#
Ability to achieve excellent results with minimal guidance
Proven discipline in following operational standards and processes
Proven verbal and written communication skills for direct customer interaction
Proven ability to master and apply advanced and specialized technical training
Proven ability to work well with business, and local and remote IT resources
Proven ability to deliver on commitments
Ability to manage and perform multiple tasks concurrently
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
The Bayway Refinery is located on the New York Harbor in Linden, New Jersey. Bayway's facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, solvent deasphalting, hydrodesulfurization and alkylation units. The complex also includes a polypropylene plant with the capacity to produce up to 775 million pounds per year. The refinery processes mainly light and medium, low-sulfur crude oil. Foreign crude oil is supplied to the refinery by tanker, and domestic crude oil is supplied through a combination of rail and marine transportation. Within the refinery, Phillips 66 Partners has a rail receiving facility with 75,000 BPD of offloading capacity. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels, as well as petrochemical feedstocks, residual fuel oil and home heating oil. Refined products are distributed to East Coast customers by pipeline, barge, rail car and truck.
