The Standards Specialist is accountable for managing Midstream’s governance documents (policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and forms) to ensure safe and reliable operation and maintenance of Midstream assets in compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements and consistent with midstream industry practices.

Responsibilities May Include

  • Actively collaborating with subject matter experts and Functional Excellence Teams across Midstream to ensure governance documents are developed and maintained in accordance with Midstream, corporate, regulatory, and industry requirements and practices.

  • Ensuring all changes to governance documents follow TSD-0001 Standardization Management of Change.

  • Ensuring changes to governance documents are effectively communicated to those impacted by the change.

  • Ensuring reviews of governance documents are completed effectively and according to the assigned frequency.

  • Coordinating with the Digital Fields Operations (DFO) Team to ensure all electronic forms are updated and maintained according to the Standardization MOC process.

  • Providing orientation training to new employees for using the Knowledge Library and the Standardization MOC process.

  • Ensuring document owners understand their role and are familiar with TSD-0001 Standardization Management of Change.

  • Maintaining and communicating metrics associated with governance documents and using these metrics to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Identifying and implementing improvement opportunities to ensure governance documents support Midstream’s HSE, operations, maintenance, engineering, projects, and integrity requirements.

  • Ensuring the quality of all governance documents to maintain continuity of style, formatting, and content.

  • Collaborating with the Information Specialist to ensure governance documents meet Records Management Requirements and are updated to reflect changes to the P66 Retention Schedule.

  • Maintaining the Midstream Knowledge Library so that Midstream employees and contractors have easy access to governance documents.

  • Staying current with available document management systems and tools and taking advantage of improvements made possible with new technology.

  • Networking with similar roles in other P66 businesses to leverage learnings from other organizations.

  • Supervising contract resources supporting management of governance documents.

Position Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5 or more years of experience in Midstream operations or related industry

  • 3 or more years of experience developing, using, or managing governance documents (policies, procedures, standards, and forms)

  • Advanced level of proficiency in technical writing and editing

  • Intermediate proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate across all levels of the organization

  • Strong planning and organizational skills

  • Willingness and ability to perform and comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodations: To travel up to 10% of the time to field locations

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

  • Working knowledge of SharePoint platform, workflows and content management

  • Working knowledge of regulations governing Midstream Operations

  • Experience working with multi-discipline teams in both office and field environments
