The Marine Ops Support / Business Improvement Coordinator is responsible for understanding all system-based Operations work processes and owning the resolution of any process gaps. The Coordinator is expected to deliver training to voyage coordinators to reinforce processes, refine processes when needed, manage relevant documentation, and work collaboratively with the BI & IT organizations to design, manage, and deliver system-based solutions where appropriate. The Coordinator will also act as vacation backup for voyage coordinators as needed. The primary internal stakeholders for this role are Marine Operations, Marine Chartering, Freight Services, Marine F&PA, and Commercial schedulers.
Responsibilities May Include
Owning and managing all Marine Operations system based work process, most notably IMOS transactional processes. This activity includes deeply understanding both the system and work processes, understanding process errors, and recommending permanent fixes.
Leading change management efforts for work process reform, including presentations, one on one meetings, and creating documentation supporting absorption of content by voyage coordinators.
Managing system and processing improvement projects across Marine, including design, scope, timeline, budget and vendor relations.
Owning transactional relationship with Hub Agents. Working with voyage coordinators and Director, Marine Operations to ensure KPI issues are addressed and service levels remain high.
Acting as substitute/vacation relief for voyage coordinators when needed.
Leading testing efforts for system upgrades, including building workplan and schedule, onboarding testers, assessing results, working system fixes with vendor, and managing implementation activities.
Resolving errors related to data submissions to/from external and internal system interfaces designed for Marine operational use.
Acting as subject matter expert resource for Marine F&PA and Freight Services (Accounting). Addressing issues and resolve through training and system design.
Scoping and creating data sets for Marine that drive value add opportunities.
Managing delivery/re-delivery process for time charter assets.
Working on other continuous improvement projects as required.

Prior experience in Marine Operations
IT Business Analyst experience
Proficiency in Alteryx and Tableau products
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
Demonstrated ability to synthesize information into specific, measurable and actionable items
Experience in project management methodologies (example: PMP certification)
Prior experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies / Lessons Learned / Root Cause Analysis / Change Management
