The Credit Analyst acts as an integral team member in the Commercial Credit organization to help support Commercial trading activity and manage counterparty credit.

Responsibilities May Include

  • Utilize internal exposure reporting, accounts receivable, deal capture and scheduling systems to monitor and manage counterparty credit exposure

  • Review and assess new counterparties and/or new deals for existing counterparties

  • Identify and communicate drivers of credit risk and make sound judgements to support credit exposure decisions as necessary

  • Negotiate credit enhancements such as parent company guarantees and letters of credit

  • Partner with Commercial and Credit Evaluations team to recommend or approve credit limits for new and existing counterparties

  • Provide detailed account status updates for management as necessary

  • Work with Legal and Accounting personnel to resolve collection issues, bankruptcies and bad debt

Required Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3 or more years managing gas & power credit

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or Accounting

  • 5 or more years of experience providing credit support in the Energy industry

  • Ability to work autonomously and to engage effectively as part of a team under the demands of a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with financial statements or financial statement analysis

  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working with people at all levels both internally and externally

  • Negotiating gas and power contracts such as NAESB, ISDA and EEI

  • An innovative mindset able to understand the use of contractual terms, letters of credit and guarantees
