The Credit Analyst acts as an integral team member in the Commercial Credit organization to help support Commercial trading activity and manage counterparty credit.
Responsibilities May Include
Utilize internal exposure reporting, accounts receivable, deal capture and scheduling systems to monitor and manage counterparty credit exposure
Review and assess new counterparties and/or new deals for existing counterparties
Identify and communicate drivers of credit risk and make sound judgements to support credit exposure decisions as necessary
Negotiate credit enhancements such as parent company guarantees and letters of credit
Partner with Commercial and Credit Evaluations team to recommend or approve credit limits for new and existing counterparties
Provide detailed account status updates for management as necessary
Work with Legal and Accounting personnel to resolve collection issues, bankruptcies and bad debt
Required Qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Bachelor’s degree
3 or more years managing gas & power credit
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or Accounting
5 or more years of experience providing credit support in the Energy industry
Ability to work autonomously and to engage effectively as part of a team under the demands of a fast-paced environment
Experience with financial statements or financial statement analysis
Excellent communication skills and comfort working with people at all levels both internally and externally
Negotiating gas and power contracts such as NAESB, ISDA and EEI
An innovative mindset able to understand the use of contractual terms, letters of credit and guarantees
