The Category Specialist creates value for Phillips 66 by defining sourcing opportunities, developing and aligning sourcing strategies, leveraging supplier relationships, analyzing market conditions, and negotiating with suppliers & internal partners to optimize sustained value. They will work under the direction of a Category Lead(s). The Specialist is accountable for all strategies within their assigned portfolio.
Responsibilities May Include
Developing of sourcing strategies for assigned sub-categories with key stakeholders and business units.
Providing commercial strategy education and drive implementation through technical and commercial networks for assigned sub-categories.
Tracking performance and ensuring compliance for assigned sub-categories.
Drafting, negotiating, executing, and implementing legal T&Cs and commercial terms.
Actively seeking opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency within their assigned portfolio.
Compiling market information and supplier knowledge to understand their impacts upon supply and supplier competitiveness.
Using creative thinking & approaches that focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Managing supplier relationships with strategic suppliers.
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
5 or more years relevant industry experience with a background in category management or indirect procurement
5 or more years proven ability and experience to work with and influence multiple business partners
Intermediate skills in Excel
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Procurement / Supply Chain experience
High level of interpersonal effectiveness
Adept at communications
