Description

The Team Lead Scheduler will provide leadership, support, organization and continuity to the Calgary scheduling team. The Lead Scheduler will supervise a team of (3) schedulers as well as be responsible for a specific refinery and associated assets. The Team Lead will report to the Supply Manager but will work with the entire front office and be the liaison for front and back office regarding day to day physical transactional activities, process and procedures.

Responsibilities may include :

  • Provide leadership and supervise the Calgary schedulers with (3) direct reports
  • Provide information and insight to colleagues with regards to inventory positions, market opportunities and market intelligence.
  • Participate in the development of scheduling metrics, processes, succession planning and best practices to be implemented consistently across the Calgary scheduling function
  • Represent the scheduling team along with the direct scheduler of the region at shipper meetings and provide learnings to the front office
  • Ensure daily reconciliation of Supply/Demand to nominations and notify front office colleagues of discrepancies with suggested recommendations
  • Oversee the monthly nomination process and convey any deviations from monthly plan to appropriate front office individuals
  • Review and monitor pipeline space deficiencies on all pipelines and highlight the available opportunities
  • Undertake appropriate apportionment calculations to ensure accurate positions
  • Discuss with supply colleagues any pipeline or logistics related issues that need guidance.
  • Monitor inventory positions weekly and instruct schedulers to adjust when appropriate to maintain target levels. Coordinate weekly month-end inventory forecasts
  • Provide vacation relief coverage and coordination of team vacations to ensure daily business needs are met
  • Develop strong working relationships with external counterparties that distinguish Phillips 66 as an industry leader in integrity, scheduling excellence and professionalism; develop and maintain working relationships internally with colleagues in Refining, Commercial and Midstream and pursue general interest optimization.
  • Set goals that challenge and develop schedulers, provide coaching, feedback and administer Corporate Performance Management processes (goal setting/year end reviews)
  • Guide scheduler’s careers in consultation with HR and senior management

Qualifications

Basic/Required :

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 or more years of experience supporting crude oil supply, trading or logistical functions
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel

Preferred :

  • 5 or more years of experience working in the energy industry
  • Existing knowledge of Canadian crude oil logistics
  • Strong organizational and time management skills that will contribute to meeting daily and monthly deadlines
