We are seeking an Analyst, Settlements Accounting in our Calgary office. This position reports to the Team Lead, Crude Oil Settlements within the Commercial Finance Organization and will perform a variety of functions in support of Crude Supply & Trading.

Responsibilities may include

  • Work closely with the traders, schedulers and analysts to ensure correct settlements

  • Perform monthly pipeline balancing and reconciliations

  • Prepare invoices and customer purchase statements for settlement

  • Inter-company transactions and settlements

  • SAP journal entries, accruals, payables/receivables, and physical inventory tie-ins

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts

  • Provide accounting support and analysis for Closing/ F&PA and other month end activities

  • Prepare regulatory reporting

  • Special projects related to Crude Supply and Trading

Required Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Accounting designation an asset

  • Strong accounting and finance knowledge

  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel with a working knowledge of SAP preferred

  • High level of initiative, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multi-task essential

  • Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision in an open trade floor environment

  • Excellent communication skills required

  • Continuous improvement mindset

  • Additional hours may be required during financial close and settlement.
