The Environmental Specialist is the primary environmental resource for wastewater and storm water and is the secondary environmental resource for other media for the Midstream Operations. This position will maintain functional expertise in these environmental disciplines and develop a working knowledge of the federal, state, and local regulatory requirements that apply to these facilities. This position is located at the Beaumont Terminal at Nederland, Texas.
Responsibilities May Include
Conducts wastewater sampling, instrumental analyses, interpretation of results and providing guidance for changes to WWTP operations.
Monitoring, maintaining and implementing environmental management programs to ensure compliance in accordance with all local, regional, state, and federal regulations.
Responding to customer and external requests for environmental support.
Providing project management and implementation guidance for environmental issues.
Assisting in developing strategies and implementation plans for emerging environmental projects.
Providing guidance, regulatory interpretation, and assistance with procedure development for a variety of environmental issues.
Developing and continually expanding regulatory and technical expertise.
Defining training objectives and developing or coordinating environmental training course content, format, and presentation methods.
Meeting environmental reporting requirements for local, regional, state, federal and corporate entities.
Participating in Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) auditing efforts.
Coordinating the collection and analyzing of environmental metrics throughout the year.
Maintaining good relations with various regulatory agencies.
Providing emergency response team support.
Supporting and/or leading environmental initiatives that support the business.
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Maintain a valid driver’s license
Experience working in Midstream and/or Refining
Experience with EPA regulations Title V, NSPS, MACT, RCRA, SPCC and NPDES, and other local, regional, state and federal environmental issues
Willing and able to travel up to 25%
Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications
Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC); information can be found at https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline
Experience with environmental management systems
Knowledge of state specific environmental regulations
Trained in emergency response incident command system and procedures
Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications
Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 21,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from a refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
