Description

The Tax Accountant position requires employee to be able to work independently, be committed to detail and deadlines, be sensitive and confident to demands of a monthly schedule and potentially large tax payments. The Tax Accountant will exhibit strong analytical and accounting skills, possess a positive attitude as a team player, experience with SAP and Microsoft products and aptitude to master new systems. The position will maintain internal and external relationships with effective verbal and written communication skills, and analyze processes and procedures for more efficient methods of completing work requirements.

Responsibilities May Include

  • Preparing monthly State Motor Fuel tax returns

  • Reconciling product movements to invoice billing summaries and inventory reports to verify accuracy of data

  • Coordinating tax return payments to taxing authorities

  • Working with various pipelines and terminals to resolve product movement discrepancies

  • Completing SAP account reconciliations for State tax accrual accounts

  • Resolving disputes and providing input on status of customers

  • Maintaining effective support documentation and desk procedures

Position Requirements

Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
