The Software Developer, Asset Maintenance Apps Support role on the R&M Asset Maintenance Apps support team involves supporting the delivery of digital transformation and long-term operational efficiencies across the Asset Maintenance and Engineering Apps Business Solutions organization. The individual selected must demonstrate a customer-first mentality, agile mindset, and proven technical skillset to support and resolve business software challenges. Given the technical nature of the team and the broad range of skills needed, we require self-starters that can learn quickly and work on specific technical tasks with little supervision. The ideal candidate has proven experience developing enterprise applications, working in the Oil & Gas industry, integrating complex systems, utilizing various cloud providers to best leverage their capabilities to modernize applications and functions, and implementing changes in a safe and efficient environment. Also, the ideal candidate would have a passion for learning new things, ability to explain complex technologies in a simple manner, and strong intellectual integrity.
Responsibilities May Include
Designing and developing applications across the Asset Maintenance and Engineering Apps Business Solutions organization.
Investigating new technologies and developing implementation plans.
Driving continued advancements across the team (e.g. cloud architecture, security, knowledge sharing, monitoring, and automation).
Working with project teams, business analyst, enterprise architects, database administrators and peer developers to evaluate business problems and IT solutions.
Promoting development and team process best practices.
Assuring solutions are designed and developed to meet or exceed audit requirements.
Leveraging agile development methodologies and processes.
Facilitating communication and alignment across multiple workstreams/efforts.
10 or more years of experience in software engineering
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or relevant field of study
Significant and relevant Oil & Gas or technical industry experience, specifically downstream
Familiarity with modern development and architecture construct
Experience in application modernization and optimization in cloud environments
Knowledge and understanding of high availability and disaster recovery principles
Knowledge in a variety of technology areas including (C#, .NET, Angular, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Relational & Non-Relational Databases)
Ability to travel up to 10%
Ability to provide technical support (including the participation in 24/7 on-call support)
Knowledge of Phillips 66 Refining and Midstream businesses
Significant experience in building and designing systems on cloud platforms – AWS and Azure
Experience with cloud native application logging, monitoring, and vulnerability scanning solutions
Experience in leading DevOps teams
