The Senior Tax Specialist works in a team environment where he/she draws on their indirect tax experience and knowledge to fully comply with indirect tax reporting requirements while ensuring accurate invoicing of taxes and fees to customers. The position includes project work involving system and process enhancements and requires strong technical knowledge and understanding of indirect tax application and processing.
Responsibilities May Include
Representing Indirect Tax in interactions with the business units concerning tax processing related to new business opportunities.
Acting as the subject matter expert regarding motor fuel tax invoicing and determination in company-wide system upgrades and testing.
Working with Indirect Tax personnel to implement local system enhancements and process improvements.
Assisting with the set-up of new customers for indirect tax determination.
Working with Indirect Tax personnel and business unit representatives to quickly resolve invoicing issues related to taxes.
Assisting Indirect Tax analysts regarding tax determination inquiries.
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5 or more years of downstream oil industry experience
Indirect tax experience
Knowledge of indirect tax determination logic
Strong analytical skills
