The Control Center Operations & Leak Detection Engineer is responsible for the design, testing, and operational support of pipeline hydraulic model-based leak detection systems as well as supporting asset integration and operations excellence in the pipeline control center.

Responsibilities May Include

  • Supporting the integration of field projects into the control center, including design reviews, hydraulic study reviews, and design of control center applications applied to the given asset.

  • Supporting remote pipeline operations excellence through operations, leak detection, and alarm management reviews.

  • Supporting implementation of leak detection software upgrades and improvements.

  • Supporting the leak detection training program for pipeline controllers.

  • Identifying improvements in field instrumentation, leak detection configuration, and operations to improve leak detectability and safe operation.

  • Providing 24/7 support for pipeline operations and leak detection systems.

  • Supporting the design and development of pipeline controller and support staff displays and reports.

  • Providing ongoing maintenance and management of change for real-time transient leak detection models.

  • Supporting special projects within Logistics, such as offline hydraulic modeling, development of leak detection or operations monitoring tools, etc. as needed.

Position Requirements


  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering

  • 3 or more years of experience in the petroleum industry


  • Master’s degree or higher in Engineering

  • 2 or more years of experience with liquid pipeline hydraulic simulation

  • 5 or more years of experience in the petroleum industry

  • 2 or more years of experience in midstream field operations

  • Experience with liquid pipeline leak detection and control room management regulation
