The Director, Crude Oil Supply reports to the Manager, Canada Marketing and Supply. They will work within a team environment to manage the Canadian Crude portfolio around a set of downstream (refining and transportation related) assets. The successful candidate will drive internal processes to optimize margins and volumes while maintaining supply focused external networks. The successful candidate will also understand market developments and direction and share across the value chain to enable better, quicker decisions within the optimization process and to better plan future refinery slates and rates. Work with colleagues across refinery planning / economics, VCS&O, trading and scheduling to align around crude availability assumptions. Be an active participant in determining P66 refinery turnaround schedules / strategies given market factors and economic implications.
Responsibilities May Include
Coordinating and collaborating across refinery personnel, Supply, VCS&O, Trading and Scheduling functions to optimize the Canadian crude slates at P66 PADD IV / V refineries in support of achieving corporate financial targets.
Driving collaboration across both the Canadian and US Supply and Trading organizations to optimize logistic asset obligations to minimize deficiencies and generate value and competitive advantage. Examples include the optimization of tankage commitments, feeder pipeline positions and optimization of space on long haul pipeline commitments.
Collaborating with the Calgary and Houston front office group to generate additional general interest income. Ensure wider, strategic concerns are incorporated in day-to-day decision making to generate maximum income for P66. Examples include pipeline space, rail loading / unloading.
Providing strategic insights and provide necessary support for longer term strategic decision making as it applies to PADD IV/V refineries. Examples include, long term tankage commitments, pipeline open seasons, internal P66 business development opportunities, liaise and input into P66 Midstream projects.
Providing representation for P66 on various Calgary based industry committees and workgroups. Build business networks with third parties at the appropriate organizational level, to ensure P66 is well informed with regards to developments in our industry environment.
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
3 or more years of Commercial experience in the fuel industry and value chain (refining, marketing, transportation)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability and willingness to work extended and non-standard hours, and/or be available 24/7 for questions/updates, and cover all issues during weekend or holiday coverage
Direct refinery operations support experience
1 or more years of experience working with financial products/contracts used in commodity trading and risk management (swaps, options, futures and forwards)
3 or more years of experience scheduling petroleum products
1 or more years of contracts negotiations
Analytical approach to problem solving
Ability to adapt to changing environment
