The Global Security Operations Center Analyst is a key contributor within the Aviation and Security organization as part of the Houston, TX site security and global operations. The Global Security Operations Center Analyst supports the Company’s security mission through the proficient monitoring and handling of various alarm and emergency communications systems as part of the 24/7 global security operations center.

Responsibilities may include :

  • Monitoring telephones and operating radios and computer equipment in the security operations center
  • Interacting routinely with employees, executives and contractors
  • Providing oversight to the contract security staff as directed by the Security Supervisor
  • Initiating and directing the appropriate response to security and facility-related incidents
  • Answering multiple phone lines promptly, politely, and professionally
  • Accurately recording information and details of events/incidents reported to security
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with others
  • Functioning effectively in a team environment
  • Controlling and monitoring access to Phillips 66 areas for employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Processing and issuing access credentials to employees and contractors
  • Providing security-related service to internal customers
  • Monitoring and directing the appropriate response and notification requirements for various security alarm systems
  • Directing emergency and non-emergency response to site-related situations
  • Acting as the initial point of contact for incident reporting involving company personnel/assets worldwide, and initiating the appropriate notification process
  • Monitoring the operation of security equipment for all Houston locations and coordinate service when required
  • Maintaining computer-generated reports and informational databases, including the incident reporting application
  • Handling of sensitive and confidential information with limited supervision
  • Working rotating shifts


Basic/Required :

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • 1 or more years experience working in a security-related position
  • 1 or more years experience working with access control, identification and other security related equipment
  • Able and willing to work various shifts including weekends, holidays and overtime when necessary

Preferred :

  • 2 or more years security related experience
  • Associates Degree or higher
  • 1 ore more years Security Operations Center Analyst experience in monitoring various electronic access control systems, closed circuit television and intrusion detection systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and interdependently with the work group
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively in writing
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally with a wide range of individuals and cultures, both in-person and via telephone
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality of company related matters
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Possess the ability to understand and interpret the security policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Possess strong positive attitude and demonstrated ability to initiate rather than react
  • Demonstrate developed interpersonal skills with focus on customer orientation
  • Possess the ability to learn Company procedures and organizational structures
  • Possess the ability to learn security specific computer applications
  • Able to perform under stressful and/or demanding situations
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize during an emergency
  • Understands the importance of networking and teamwork and how to integrate them into the daily operation
  • Able to readily identify available resources and take initiative to use them effectively
  • Possess the ability and exhibit the willingness to work as a contributing and reliable team member
